About
My research focuses primarily on the role of individual and collective self-esteem in political attitudes, group identities and intergroup relations. In one line of studies I examine how defensive and secure self-esteem may contribute to shaping liberal versus conservative political orientation. In another line of research I work on developing the concept of collective narcissism - a defensive group esteem, characterized by an emotional investment in an unrealistic belief about the unparalleled greatness of an in-group. I my thesis I focus on determining factors that contribute to strengthening narcissistic group esteem and investigate it's consequences for intergroup relations.
